Music Stand

Base is Cherry, bent lamination. Rack is solid walnut from a single board.
Stars are Purple Heart. Chinese character ‘Music’ is Ebony.
The piece at the base of the third leg is Walnut. It was added for stability when I discovered you really need to bend that leg more than the front two. I call it the mud puddle and it is now a design element and not a fix for a mistake.

This is really beautiful. I have been thinking about making a music stand for a long time but haven’t come up with a good enough design yet. I really like your design. Very elegant.

Henry -

This is a wonderful piece. I love the graceful lines and the inlay work. With your permission, I will draw some inspiration from this project. My son is just starting to play the trumpet and I think this would be a great way of giving him something special to encourage his effort.

That is absolutely awesome. I love the piece, and it is a great job with the picture too. I am working on getting a setup together to take pictures like that.

Keep up the good work, and keep sharing with us.

very musical
maybe some day I’ll make a stand for my daughter. In my mind it has the staff – such as you have created here.

Love the mud puddle element. It’s like the music has melted the stand into the floor.
Love it.
