this is my wife’s idea. she found an old headboard and footboard for $10.00, brought it home and we went to work. it is a black lacquer finish with cherry wood slats for the seat. I was really a fun project.

A nice job or repurposing. I like the contrast between the black lacquer and the cherry.

You guys did a very nice job. I’ve seen similar things done before but, this one is nice. Good Job!

Forgive my ignorance, but what is black laquer finish? Is it just lacquer that has tint added to it?

Derek,
you are exactly right. I went to KWAL and got a gallon of Flat Lacquer tinted black threw it in a airless and went to town.
