More beautiful than this piece, Yuma, is the wonderful natural lighting I have found to work in. Less beautiful than the piece is the grinding our of the insides! It’s a chore and after a piece like this, two big garbage bags are full of chips and dust.

Whatever it takes to make an art piece is worth it! I’ve always had a sweet spot for Native American apparel, probably my early years in Mexico and the fact that daddy worked as an archaeologist whose specialty is early Americans from North to South of the continent. Love the use they made of natural materials yet respecting mother Nature. You do them a very graceful tribute with these painted carvings :)

I have no clue where my interest in this type of art comes from but I have had very positive feedback from first nations people who see the art – it cannot be authentic as I have no references so I try to make them as aesthetic as possible.

Thank you kindly Steve. I reckon what keeps me humble is, no matter what I produce, at the end of the day, I still have to pick up my own dog poop off the lawn, LOL.
