A couple of months ago, a lady that I work with and her husband gave me some black walnut lumber that he and his Father had cut in their sawmill about 15 years ago. What a wonderful gift for a woodworker. In turn I built her a jewelry box and him a matching men’s valet. I love mixing the walnut with mahogany and ebony. Makes a nice combination. Boxes are finished with natural danish oil and black bison wax.

Well done.

I need to get into oils and waxes. Stain ruins so many great wood projects.

They’re beautiful! What a wonderful gesture by both of you!

Beautiful boxes, very nicely done. The inlay really is a very nice touch.

Great craftsmanship on these boxes and I love the understated elegant design of both too. A great idea with his and hers boxes that are compatible yet each one unique.
