Don’t get me wrong…......I’m in awe of you LJ’s that tackle Maloof’s designs, but when I showed them to my outdoorsman client (6’2” 240 lbs), they were not at all what he had in mind. Russ just wanted something to sit by the wood stove in….....I think he’ll be pleased with this oversized rocker…......

I like this chair. Where did you get the plans? Or is this your design? Really nice chair and looks like it would be a great fit for us big guys.

I really like the “mountain” profile on the back and stretcher.

Don’t care for the Maloof rockers myself, either. Now this is a real rocking chair. I like sturdy. Nice design and work. Thanks for the post.

Nice rocker and nice touch with headrest.But trust me a Maloof style rocker is VERY sturdy .I have made them for a person close to 400 lbs.Also a bentwood runner is always stronger than a runner cut out from one piece of wood.

When I finish my Morris inspired chair I think I may give a rocker a go…you’ve inspired me! beautiful work
