A good friend of mine. was elected as chairman of a small committee,

& after our first meeting he mentioned that it would be nice to have a gavel.

So at our next meeting, I presented him with this gavel.

Everyone had a big laugh, but he used it at every meeting.

He always carried it in his pocket for a quick draw, when needed.

The other day I asked him if he still had it, so I could post it here on Lumberjocks.

For those interested, the dimensions are:

The handle is 3/4” X 6” long.

The head is 1 1/4” X 2 1/4”.

That’s cool, nothing like a custom gavel. Good job on that, nice wood.

Great job Dick. A great gavel for a small committee.

Nicely made, and I love the “cleverness” of the small gavel.

Very clever Dick. Good thing that we don’t judge a man’s (or woman’s) power on a Committee by the size of their gavel? :-))
