I was commissioned to carve these boxes for 3 young men completing confirmation at their church.
It was a pleasure to carve them knowing the event they commemorate. I lined each one with red velvet.

By the way, I’m having a Giveaway at My Chip Carving. I’m giving away two items I picked up on a recent trip to Senegal, West Africa. One is a wood box covered with camel skin! Really cool. The other is a hand carved wooden tray carved from a wood that looks like rosewood.
Anyone can enter here –

Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions about chip carving. I’ll be glad to help.

Marty, your chip carving is maybe the best that I have seen, including the authors of the books out there. I love to see your projects.

Sheila, John, Dan, Mike,
It’s nice to have supportive friends! I’m blessed to be able to do chip carving for my work. From hobby to profession. When people ask me what I do when I’m not working, I tell them, “Chip carve” :-)

Your chip carvings are so crisp and fine. Always eye candy for me.
