So – a few weeks ago I knocked a real cheapo-crappy picture frame off the wall and it fell to the ground – it suffered a busted corner. It was one of those particle board ones with the wood looking paper covering it. The picture frame meant nothing, but what was inside of it was priceless to my mother. It was a stitching that her mother had done.
I repaired the frame but it got me thinking….. maybe it could just use a brand new frame.
So… I started tinkering with a few scraps. The outside and inside are walnut – the middle portion is maple. I finished it with some “natural” color Danish Oil – followed by some Johnson’s paste wax.
I think it turned out well.
Enjoy!
Zac

Nice job, just the combination I suggest to my students to make. I made one myself with Cherry and Maple, will be posting it once I get it mounted. Thanks for the post
