Rocking chair #2 is a child’s size for my grandson. Built using Red Oak with Ash in the lams for strength. Finished with antique oak stain(2 coats) and 4 coats of Maloof Tung Oil/Linseed/Poly and finally 2 coats of Maloof Poly/Wax finish. This chair is based on plans from Robert Henserling, the Mesquite chair master in Uvalde, TX and Hal Taylor’s design for the backslats and rockers. Put the two together out of necessity due to the quantity of wood I had available. Looking forward to doing my next chair in Mesquite along with another child’s chair for my grandaughter out of Black Walnut.

Very nice chair, I like the stain color and it looks like you did a great job on the finish. Now his dads gonna want one to!
