This idea is a marrying of two other seprate ideas, sound confusing?

Well, one day I saw an antique cabinet that was a little bigger than this, but otherwise it worked the same way. The top and bottom base plate are exactly the same design, which means that depending on which way it is oriented you will have either a left or right handed door. Add to that experience likely every man has had, wherein the Missus’ buys a “pretty” (her word, not mine, lol) wall calender and when the year is done they hate to throw it out.

So I thought that it might be a nice guy one day and made her a cabinet that fit the previously discarded calenders. So we cut out and kept the best ones (her words not mine, lol), like winter/summer/holidays etc and discarded the rest. Now, much like the screen saver on her desktop, she can change the art in the cabinets to match the seasons.

I think I got myself a batch of fresh corn miffins that day, so, I will chalk that one up to a win/win.

Nice. We used to save a few pages off the calendar, but after a while we had so many we gave up trying to find ways to use them.

Nice little cabinet. And the brownie points for making it will go far

Interesting idea and a batch of muffins are always great. Nice antiquing job.
