This is the first plane I have attempted. I got inspiration from Mafe, and his wonderful work. I had an old and dry piece of oak batten in the store doing nothing, so I thought I would try this. I rushed it, so it is a bit rough around the edges, and elsewhere! I didn’t spend enough time jointing so the joints to the sides are a little open. I fitted the dowel in the wrong place so the iron sits at the wrong angle. Overall though I am quite pleased with it. I learned a lot, and really want to try another soon. The iron is from a stock of irons we have in the college where I work. It is from a 6 1/4” stanley block plane.

Comments always welcome,

Garry

Wonderful shaves, I love the table full of shaves, this shows that you did it!
The lines are elegant, like a Kenov meets Japan look.
If I was you I would be really happy.
Thank you for the words, now my blog has already saved it’s purpose to inspire, so I have a big smile here.
Best thoughts,
Mads
