Small side table of cherry with tapered legs, curved aprons, and a floating top. Hand-planed to a finish-ready surface. Again, a test-run with the Leigh FMT. I am really trying to nail down a couple pieces that I can punch out in small production runs and hopefully sell at some local retailers/galleries. Based on the results I achieved with this table (in terms of time, material, overhead, etc…) I figure I can make them in batches of 4 and make a good profit at $350-375. Finished with shellac-polish.

Regards, JM

It is quite interesting to see the legs tapered in at the top . . . or are my eyes playing tricks.

That is one purdy looking table. Is it your design?

Zuki, they are tapered at the top. The design is a compilation of ideas based on previous projects I guess you could say.

Like it. Strangely the underframe looks near identical to a coffee table, entertainment unit and side table I designed and produced for my former employer here in the philippines. Great minds think alike! The tapered legs on mine were a lot heavier and all three were designed to be flat packed with knock down fittings. I have to say yours is alot more elegant than mine was and the bevel edged top looks great, but the similarities are uncanny.

Wonderful table …I’d love to see it again in a few years after the Cherry has “ripened” LOL

Good to see you getting some quality time in the shop man! This table is beautiful. I really like the shape and the proportions. The detail of the leg tapering upwards to the floating top with that bevel is fantastic. You are doing some high quality work in that shop. Keep it going.
