A few months ago I built a new bath vanity to replace the original one from when the house was built in 1956. You can see the build here http://lumberjocks.com/projects/125889

And since the very first day I installed it, I wished I would have put a drawer INside the cabinet on the right side. I knew it would make it easier to get “stuff” out from under there rather have to reach all the way back in or take half the “stuff” out to get at something in the back.
.

.
.
So this past week, while the wife was away at our daughters house I used some of the maple I still have from building the vanity. I just so happened to find a piece of luan for the drawer bottom that was a pretty good match. I ran some of the 1X3 maple thru the planer because there was just no need to use 1” thick stock for this. And so I built a basic box.
.

.
.
I had a set of 18” full-pull slides from a project that never got done years ago which was the perfect length for this. My cabinet is 19” deep and I made the drawer 18.5”. I made a set of brackets from some metal in my scrap pile which meant I didn’t have to add a wood runner which would have eaten up valuable space on the sides.
.

.
.
And here’s what we have now. No more having to get on my knees when I need the spray bathroom cleaner that always seems to work it’s way to the back!

That’s really beautiful Joe.

That is a good idea for us older guys. I like it. Nice job.
