Another intarsia project for another co-worker that is getting married. What is up with all these people getting married this spring? You’d think they were in love or something. :)
Anyways, I’m glad I got this one done. The pattern was fairly straightforward, but cutting the backing was a royal pain. The pattern was from Judy Gale Roberts, and I used it at full size.
The materials used were Western Red Cedar and Sycamore. I found several small pieces of sycamore in the bargain bin at the local Woodcraft store. The grain pattern worked great for the flower on the iris. I was also thinking it might work well for feathers for any other intarsia birds I decide to do.
