Proud of this one, but most proud because I got 80% of it out of the trashcan. Only cost me about $30. Mahogany and maple squares. Walnut/maple/walnut border. Shellac’d, lacquer aerosol clear coated, and rubbed with baby oil and rottenstone.
As an outdoors enthusiast, I had this etched into one of the sides:
There is a serene and settled majesty to woodland scenery that enters into the soul and delights and elevates it and fills it with noble inclinations. Washington Irving
Nothing helps scenery like ham and eggs. Ham and eggs, and after these a pipe—an old, rank, delicious pipe—ham and eggs and scenery, a “down grade”, a flying coach, a fragrant pipe and a contented heart—these make happiness. It is what all the ages have struggled for. Mark Twain
You must not know too much or be too precise or scientific about birds and trees and flowers and water-craft; a certain free margin, and even vagueness—perhaps ignorance, credulity-helps your enjoyment of these things. Walt Whitman
He shows it to EVERYBODY that visits.
