Made this going away gift for an Aircraft Electrician. Japan’s Naval flag was made from Mahogany and Maple. Border was made from cherry and also the nameplate below was from cherry.

He was happy, and it only cost $75 for the entire gift.

Sorry I almost forgot. I used grain filler on the mahogany, then used shellac, and finished with an aerosol can of lacquer. Afterwards I rubbed out the finish with baby oil and 2F medium course fine powder to Rottenstone. It had a glass finish on it, so I was very pleased.
