THE GOOD: Our daughter informed us that we were going to be Grandparents. This is my first woodworking adventure. It is made of oak and finished with Miniwax Natural Stain and the topcoat is WipeOn Poly. I learned a lot building this project.
THE BAD: I sanded this project with a porter cable sander in my house. Not only was I in the doghouse with my wife, but I spent hours vacuuming and dusting. Also my lungs hurt because I failed to use a resperator.
THE UGLY: Half way through building this project, received a call from our daughter stating that she had a miscarriage. I pulled myself together and finished this project.

Ouch! So sorry to hear about the miscarriage. My wife’s first pregnancy ended that way, then we had two beautiful girls to follow. I pray strength for you and your family. Also, I am glad to see that you completed the cradle. It looks very nice!

Glenn,
That is a very nice project – I am sorry for the bad news though. Keep at the woodworking, and I’m sure one day you’ll have a grandbaby to give that cradle too.

Great looking cradle. And you learned a valuable lesson about sanding in the house! My wife gripes about my sanding in the garage.
I’m sorry about the bad news, but I’m sure the cradle’s time will come.

Great looking cradle. Sorry about the bad news. Where did you get the plans for this. I would like to make one for my daughter.

That was your FIRST project! You started with a resounding success of a woodworking project. Nice job.
I see you now have a respirator as well. Good luck to you and yours.
