Spent the day Saturday working on the restoration of a meat saw for a friend of mine. The saw belonged to his Grandfather and it is now his. He makes his own sausage and would like to use his Grandfather’s old saw to do it but it was rusted and pitted pretty bad and the handle was cracked and split. I made the handle out of 1” thick Oak and worked the saw with several grits of sandpaper and mineral spirits and worked my way to “0000” steel wool. I sure hope he likes it because it was quite a chore!!

Great restoration. My father used to have one. It disappeared in a family garage sale I guess.
