Another project for my artist friend who added a large bay window and alcove to house his wife’s piano as their mansion grew.

They commissioned the bookcases to fit the decor and I built and painted these units to match.

I love this, one of the houses I grew up in had a built in bookcase in the guest room, it was smaller than this with a cabinet under it. I loved how it looked, it really made the room.

Nice work, my friend. You would never know that they weren’t always there.

They fit pretty nice Don. I prefabbed them and painted them before installing them and adding the baseboard. I grew up in the neighborhood and watched this house grow from a tiny wartime bungalow that this family raised five boys in, and as this man’s artistic carreer grew, so did the house. Driving by it today I see the huge tudor mansion it has become, with cut stone facade and embellishments, but I still remember playing in the tiny one and a half story bungalow with the boys.

Phil,

I like the “keystone.” Great classic touch.

Having done a couple built-ins, I appreciate more than I used to, the trouble you went through. Nice job!

Having done one built-in and another planned, I can appreciate the trouble you went through. Exspecially matching the paint.

Good Job!
