Wooden Cupcake Boxes

The Spring 2015 issue of Scrollsaw Woodworking magazine has a nice pattern for making these cupcake style boxes.

I thought the ladies would like them for Christmas 2015 gifts.

I used red oak for the cupcake box, and walnut for the tops.

The white icing is fabric paint from Hobby Lobby.

Scroll sawing red oak 1.5 inches thick at a 15 degree angle is tough on scroll saw blades. I ended up consuming about 1 blade per box.
