I needed a new cutting board so I decided to make one for the sink. It is made out of 1 1/2 inch Mahogany and Oak. I finished off the board with Butcher Block Conditioner from Howard.

Looks good and I like the Howard’s stuff too. I use it on all my cb’s.

Looks like oak and walnut, how did you attach/retain the center square? The color contrast looks great.

I cut all the other pieces and then cut the center block

nice job … and it fits the sink … I’ll bet you got extra hugs for that one.

Looks nice, the Oak and Walnut contrasts well. Oak being an open grained wood I would be concerned about bacteria though.
