My workbench is usually a mess. I tell people that I dont “CLEAN” ... I just RE-ARANGE the clutter :-)
.

.
.
My 2 random orbit sanders seem to always stay on top of the bench, even when I’m not using them.
.

.
.

Anyhooo, I was waiting for some glue to dry on a project and remembered that SOMEONE here made a rack to hang their ROS under their workbench. (I dont recall who it was, but THANK YOU for the idea! ) Here’s how I did mine.
.
I found a piece of oak that was just the right size and used pine for the other pieces.
  • It dont HAFTA be pretty to be useful :-)
    .

.

.
.
I bolted to the steel crossbar at the end of the bench.
.

.

.
.
And I made the sides partially open so I could swing the sanders out and away from the edge of the bench. The picture doesn’t quite show it, but when they’re turned sideways they are clear of the edge of the bench.
.

.

.
.
I glued it up before lunch and by the time I went back out I was able to mount it under the bench. Didn’t even bother to waste any finish on it. All told, I probably have less than an hour in this.
.
Thanks for looking. As usual, comments and critiques are welcomed.

Out of the way and still at arms reach. Good idea.

Now that is a idea….nice!!! Good job Joe. I built a cabinet to store stuff like this is but never seem to put them away

Thanks guys. Wish I could take credit for the original idea. I tried searching for who ever it was on here, but have you ever tried to search “ROS” on LJs? Sheeeesh, there’s a million hits!

Hopefully, someone will see this and let us know who it is that came up with this idea.
