I had a very special client ask me to build a small shelf unit to hold his gaming equiptment. He requested that it be open in the front, and that it be made with “fancy” woods.
So I came up with this design and he approved of the drawing.
The frames are made of cherry, the outside panels are rippled maple veneer, and the inside panels and the shelves were done in a quilted big leaf maple veneer.
The finish is two coats water based amber shellac, then topcoated with 4 coats of water based lacquer.
It was a fun little project to build and my grandson really loves it !!
