Curved tapered cutting board

One of my advanced woodworking students is studying cutting boards. Here is one he made out of walnut and hard maple. He used a taper jig to make several of the pieces. He then decided to cut in some curves just to make it different. The challenge was gluing it and not having the pieces slide away from each other. The board is finished with several coats of mineral oil. The student received an A for this project. Very nice job!

Thanks for posting the students work. I enjoy seeing what the next crop of kids are making …

I don’t care if the kids are making a Pine Car Derby car or a foot stool, The look of pride on their faces when they are done always gives me the warm fuzzies.
