Project Information

This bicycle is a tribute to Victor Horta 1861 - 1947 architect Art Nouveau. It's made just only from scrap wood by students from school Victor Horta in Brussels. All the parts from this bicycle are made from wood! The head is a caricature based on his portrait. It was a great and very fun project for students woodworking.

What a cool project for the students! I'm sure they will have fond memories of this for many years to come and maybe they will even continue to explore more like this.

I love it. I have that in mind to make a wooden bicycle also. I like the idea of driving off the big front wheel so no sprocket and chain is needed. someday, maybe!!

Cheers, Jim
