Project Information

Just finished up this custom sword for a client. By far the hardest sword I've built.

For those who know about such things, it's a replica of the Master Sword from Zelda.

The client is going to add a paint job.

Stats:
Wood is red oak.
The total length is 42 1/4"
The wide part of the blade is 3" wide and 28" long. It narrows to 2".
The grip is 8" and the pommel is 2".
The guard is 10" wide.
With the scabbard it weighs 3.5 pounds.

Great job! Is this your own design or did you use a plan?

Thanks.

I did not have a plan. The customer sent me a picture of what he wanted it to look like.

Interesting and challenging joinery going on there…

"Challenging" being the key word! I've built a few swords, but I spent as much time figuring out how to do things as I did doing the things on this one. A lot of fun, though.
