Just an update – So many requests to see the “YARD WORK” so some attached photographs, not the spring has eventually come.
Hi Folks
We have had a holiday weekend ( 4 days) here and the wife is away, but I have no time to play! I promised her I would not go into the workshop, this weekend, but I would do lots and lots of yard work, so here is the result of some of the yard work.
Pöydät ja Tuolit, this is Finnish for Table & Chairs, which is the name of my company, the woodpecker is my trademark and the lower sign is the street name and number in my village.
The Post is a little over 2.4 m high and is 90mm x 90mm (Pine). The three signs together measure 1.7m high x 400mm wide Each sign is made from 12mm Birch plywood, and the frame is quarter sawn Birch, the lettering is 6mm walnut. This was my first attempt with a new scroll saw. The Finish is Brushed poly – Oh yes and real brass chain and hooks
PS, I did finish off the rest of the yard work first.
WELCOME

Tony, that’s one great sign. Thanks for explaining the wording, that’s not quite what I thought it meant. Quick before the wife comes home, flowers – lots of flowers. Cheers, johnt

Flowers lots of flowers – done. I planted out the borders for her over the weekend, trimmed the hedges, cut the grass, cleaned the stones and painted the cat (well it was not moving at the time).
I have luck her plane lands at 22:50 to night, so she will not be home until after midnight, so she will not see it until tomorrow night (she never see’s anything in the morning), then she will think that I have been busy at work all day.

I,ll post the yard work at a later date, when the results are more evident – everything is just differentr shades of green at the moment, Also the trees are still not in full leaf yet – our springs are a little late here so close to the artic circle.

I love it. Very clever sign, business name, and logo, although I have no idea how to pronounce the words! I have the same struggle with yard work. By the time I get the equipment running again each week, I’m worn out on yardwork, even before the mowing starts. If I can keep it mowed down where it is safe to walk in, and reduces the chance of a prairie fire making it to the house, then I am happy, and I can get back to the shop.
Glad you are with us.

This is great scroll work Tony. A well made sign. Just like you Tony I’d rather “play” in the workshop than do yard work anytime. Although the grass can only get so high before I need a hay baler to come in and rake the yard.

Nice! You’re going to have to make an audio file and post it of how to pronounce that or it’s going to bug me until the end of time!
