Tapering Jig

Project by Joe posted 266 days ago 783 views 11 times favorited 11 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I made this to do my tapers. It works great. I put a couple push blocks on it. It makes it a bit easier and safer to push through the table saw. It has a runner that rides in the miter slot on the right side of the blade.

Can you show it on the table saw with something in it ready to be tapered? I think I get it but visuals would help me understand. It certainly looks nicely crafted.

I have a metal taper jig I got from Vermont American I think. It scares me very time I use it (not often) as it has no material hold down.

Yours looks a good deal safer with the hold downs.

Joe, very nice jig: I like the “T” slots for adjustability. What did you use for the hold downs?

Very nice jig. Thanks for the folllow up Chief. I may just modify my panel cutting sled with some T-track to mimic this. Great idea.

Very cool – what do ya know – I JUST made a taper sled today! :) After seeing yours, I’ll be adding a couple push blocks as well as a hardwood runner on the bottom.

Nice!
