This table was a challenging piece. The top took about 4 days to do. I thought I would never get it done. The checker board is hardwood maple/walnut

Very nice job Kev. A nice interpretation of the table, close to the original but also unique in its own way.

It looks like you used Walnut and Maple? Is that a solid top, or veneer? Let us know more of what you did.

Beautiful combo table, & beautiful finish, & design. Another top contender.

Makes mine look pale by comparison, not to mention I am still trying to finish it. All I can say is, Kev’s looks much closer to the original than mine.

great job Kev. That walnut looks so much better in your table than it did in my barn!!

Good concept to make this a checker/chess table!

Fun way to adjust the functionality. King’s Pawn 2 to King’s Pawn 4. You’re move!

Great idea to make it a chest table with a drawer to keep your pieces in.

Another great piece made by Kev. Thanks once again for sharing your wonderful talent with those, like me, whom are “woodworking talent impaired”.
