Late winter is a great time to prune fruit trees here in the PNW. My husband and I bought a small farm with an orchard in January and the trees were really out of control. Thankfully, that meant for lots of great wood to practice spoon carving and plenty of lessons in pruning. The trees have since blossomed and I’m looking forward to lots of delicious fruit this summer. I carved this spoon from a pear branch using my Mora Knives purchased on I am looking forward to upgrading to an Orford knife soon.

Cool little spoon. You’re handy with those knives.

That’s a very nicely shaped spoon. I’ve just made my first spoon today and now know that it’s not as easy as it looks.
