One of my friends decided to leave KC for another adventure, so as a parting gift two of my other friends and I decided to give him a going away gift. The is just a simple maple frame from some flooring I had. The finish is just a “friction finish” sanding my way up through the grits to 2,000 and then taking a T-Shirt and rubbing it out until it had a consistent sheen. Best part is that any touch up is easy, just rub it until you like it.

The art work was done by our friend as well. It is the KC skyline from Penn Valley Park.

Nice project. But why are the pictures upside down?

Here they are right side up:

Yeah I noticed that after I posted. Couldn’t figure it out since the originals are righ side up. Guess I will have to save a version “upside down” just for LJs.

I run into this problem when I attach pictures too. I find that if I open them with a picture viewer and rotate them once left, save it, then once right and save again so it’s back to how it should be, that somehow makes the uploaded picture correct. I like the friction finish; looks really nice without the stench of all the finishing products.
