My first try at making a kaleidoscope worked. Surprised myself. Cutting the mirrors was the hard part.
This scope has a three mirror system and gives a great image. The object tray rotates using the gear. You can put almost anything on the tray and the resulting image is always interesting.
This one is about 18 inches tall
Built using Maple, Maple Burl, Walnut and Cherry. I plan on making more but in different forms and shapes.

Hmmm. That is an interesting way of making a kalediscope, nice. How did you cut the mirrors? I have a lot of trouble getting the edges at the right angle and clean.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the kind words, I plan to make a few more using different layouts and designs. If I can find the time I’ll try to post a “how to” for anyone who would like to give it a try. I think the next one will look something like this.
Pinkfish ….. I made up a template to set the mirrors to the correct angle. Once that is done then tape the mirrors together. I found it to be easier that way. You can use almost anything for the template.
