Box Joint Jig

The jig is designed for a single blade, in my case a 1/8” Freud rip blade. A pin that matches the kerf rides between spacers that are a 1:1 ratio to the size box joints you want. First time I was anxious and didn’t make the spacers consistent so the joints turned out crappy. Second try I used 1/4” plywood for the spacers and the joints came out perfect, snug but enough room for glue. The kerf is 1/8” and the pin is just about .002 smaller.

It looks pretty simple to make and operate. I will have to look into this further.

This is a pretty clever jig, Rick. it’s down a ways on my bucket list because I have a multipurpose jig for a router that uses the same principle. It’s a giant kefmaker for the tablesaw! Nicely done!

Great version Rick, love the added handle. Used it on any projects yet or just test cuts?

No projects, I just finished it yesterday. Be a few days before I build any boxes.
