Last weekend I have built a simple stand for a small aquarium – birthday present for a friend. The style needed to match other furniture in the room.
Very straightforward build – used 12” poplar boards from HD. Glued up legs to double thickness. Legs are tilted out 5 degrees for stability, and have rounded edges. The tabletop is beveled at 10 degree from the bottom to ease up the edges.
Pocket screw joinery, two layers of java gel stain, followed by two spray coats of shellac.
