Black Limba, walnut and T&G maple backed dovetailed bookshelf I made for my mom last year. I have since learned how to do stopped dadoes and someday I’ll get around to making some kind of creative plug for the visible dado on the top.

Excellent joinery! Are the dovetails hand cut as the scribe line would indicate, or do you prefer a router?
Great looking bookcase all around.

Hey Willie, thank you! Yes the dovetails are hand cut. I am mainly a handtool user.

Excellent joinery! Are the dovetails hand cut as the scribe line would indicate, or do you prefer a router?
Great looking bookcase all around.

Very nice bookcase.

And welcome from another younger woodworker in the Seattle area. Congratulations on being featured in Furniture & Cabinetmaking.

Hi Anne, welcome to LJ’s. Good to see another woman posting (we aren’t rare, but not many of us) . Black limba is one of my favorites. I’m sure your mom adored it. Hope you share more down the road.

This is beautiful! That wood is gorgeous! Do you have any construction pics from that build or were those the ones you sent me already when I was asking you how you attached the back to it?
