This is from the book, “Custom Wooden Boxes for the Scroll Saw” by Diana Thompson. 3D scrolling for the swan. The box is so thick, to accommodate the music box movement, I decided I wouldn’t bother with scrolling it, and applied bandsaw-box concepts to cut that portion.
This was made for my granddaughter, who has patiently waited many months since she picked it out from the book (or you could say catalog, as it’s treated around here…).
Here is a video of it in action. I used a cell phone, so quality is so-so.

Hey nice job. I like the video feature. Your video has made me want to make one as well. Where do you find music box chimes for the project?

Thanks for the comments, fellas. I took a chance on the ‘net. This guy has a descent selection, but they are all 18-note. (Not that I can afford a 72-note…) Indiana Sampler
I ordered two separate items from them, the musical movement, and a turntable, which is what the top sits on. I also had to cut the box twice because the movement was bigger than I expected. (Yeah, started the box before I had the hardware. doh!)
