First, a big thank you to Luke Addington for all the help, tips, and inspriration.

These aren’t great, but a long way from my very first attempt:

The box is walnut and quartered white oak. The small box/tray on the inside is quartered white oak. Except for resawing the walnut, everything was done using only hand tools. I’ve got another mahagony one in the works now to get some more practice in. It’s challenging, but rewarding.

Joe you are wrong – these are GREAT! Beautiful box. Your dovetail license is in the mail.

You’ve made a huge amount of progress in a microscopic amount of time. Congratulations!

Looking forward to the mahogany box.

Thanks everyone!

Luke, I’m getting there. I feel like I know what needs to be done at least, and that’s the hard part. Now I just have to figure out how to get my hands to do it consistently.

Paul, I feel like I still have a long way to go. The good thing is I have a lot of wood to practice with :)

I knew you wouldn’t take very long to get good at dovetails. That looks nice.

Very big improvement, those are super nice. Your Moxon vise is great as well. Do you have that as a project on here somewhere? I want to copy that design.
