The wine rack my husband made (after posting some help with ideas) for a guy out of red oak and blackwalnut. They guy wanted the size of 30 inches high by 24 inches wide and 15 inches deep. His wife wanted the shelf which took away some room for the bottles..but after I drew it all out on paper and having the wine bottle as a guide, we manage to get it to work out nicely. The handles Darryl made out of purple heart on the lathe and added red oak shaped like a cork. We put Tung Oil on for the finish. The guy has already seen it..loved it..and has ordered a standing closet for his son. It’s been great to have Darryl make things in the shop and he did enjoy the challenge. As small as it is..using REAL wood sure makes a huge differance in store bought stuff!
Thanks for looking…I had missed a picture of the flower button I carved for the crisscross on the rack, manage to add that along with the other pictures sorry about that.

Hi Krum, Real nice job Darryl has done with the wine rack. Like the handles, you have taught him well.
I bet you are just itching to get your hands back into your shop. The lathe is talking to you not the green man.

Yeah, Bob, some things I just have to wait to get to, but thanks all for the looksy and comments. I’ll pass them on to Darryl. One thing he had to do himself is the finish. One who hates that part! But he did a nice job. I put “we” by mistake.
He’s going to finish making the top part of his gun cabinet (about time!) So I need to get going on being able to carve! Thanks again!
