These pieces were commissioned to us late last year. The customers wanted them to fit two spaces on either side of their fireplace. The cabinets are around 100” tall by 50” wide at the base. The whole thing was constructed of 3/4 finished ply. The bamboo molding is custom painted by us to mimic real bamboo. These cabinets hold a collection of majolica pottery. The cabinets were lacquered cream on the inside and brown on the out. Very fun project. Great looking installed.

those are really unique—a display piece that is worthy of being put on display itself. Very cool.

Nick, you are really doing some incredible work. I should be begging for a job so that I could learn from you.

Really impressive,
M

Projects like this are only made possible by the patrons who entrust us with their money. In exchange we give them beautiful one off pieces of art. This is true of any woodworker who does this for a living. The true artist are the people who woodwork for free. These people are not bound by time constraints, money, or deadlines, they make art for the sake of making art. I work at a business, and a business must make money. This is the downfall that keeps the pieces I’m involved in from being great….

Thanks to all who comment, i appreciate the kudos even though i by nature am very humble.
