Small coffin

This is a project I completed a few years ago…all scrap wood, oak with walnut trim…silver leaf details. The marquetry and handles were given to me by a friend…the coffin hols some of my previous pets cremains. There seems to be a slight split occurring on the lid, it’s been over four years since I finished it, and in my defence (somewhat…LOL), I did have a sudden and significant temperature last year due to the accident to my building…The blog of the progress is here: http://lumberjocks.com/MadJester/blog/series/4420

Very nice tribute to the animals we love. Good job.

-- Mother Nature created it, I just assemble it.

I just saw your other post on it, and must say that it is a fine tribute to your pets. We have the ashes of one of our dogs in a small box, but the box was bought at a gift store and it’s much too long of a story for here.

The silver leaf came out great! At first look I thought it was metal trim.

A fine and wonderful way to memorialize furry friends (family?)....

Outstanding! First silver/wood combo I’ve seen.
