Being vertically challenged and having high cabinets in the kitchen of our new house, my wife and I needed a lift to get to things. My grandmother always had a stool in the kitchen but i found a great design for this library chair from Popular Mechanics. Another cheap $20 projects but I use this thing just about daily now.
This chair flips back over front to turn into this step stool. I need to decide what finish we want but I can’t say enough for the design of this one.

Slick. I thought the seat flipped up at first, but I see it’s the back that flips forward. I take it you’re satisfied with its sturdiness?

Yeah, I thought the same thing too. Where can I find the plans? I was going to start with a cardboard template if nothing else. Ben Franklin was a genius!
