As we all know once someone finds out your a wood worker you get the “can you make me that?” effect. Usually they pick a project from a magazine that won some award or belongs in a museum. Mean while your still trying to figure out how to make the lumber square. Luckily my wife picked out this project which was pretty straight forward with keyed miter joints. It’s made from a curly maple and padauk from a formal plan off the internet. It’s finished with 3 coats of Tung oil and wax.

Very nicely done. I like the color and design. How long did it take you?

Nice work. Your comments remind me of my wife. She wanted a treasure chest for display about so big by so big. she wanted it cheap, fast and left me to my imagination. Guesss I’ll have to take a pic or 2 and post it one of these days. The only thing worse than “them” finding out you are a woodworker is “them” finding out you’re an electrician ;-))

haha, Dusty…

That reminds me of the last time someone posted their wife’s box a few months ago.

This one is nice too.

This is a beautiful box and the padauk and curly maple work well together.

Nice job.
