Oak Blanket Chest

Project by Wayne Precht posted 293 days ago 527 views 3 times favorited 10 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Again, please excuse the rough photography, there sure seemed to be a lot of light when I set up. The front on shot was done at 1600 ISO to try and get good contrast, but that made it pretty grainy.

Anyway, my wife requested a small blanket chest for the foot of the bed to have a place to land laundry baskets and an easier way onto the bed for the dog whose aging a bit. It’s built of red oak with red oak plywood panels. Basic panel and frame connected to posts and an upholstered lid. It’s about 30” wide and 16”.

That’s really nice. I like the idea of a cushion on top,

Kinda makes me cringe to imagine the dog jumping up on it. Maybe your’s isn’t large and remarkably always muddy.

Great job on the build and that cushioned top really sets it apart .
