Yet another cutting board inspired by The Wood Whisperer’s instructional podcast. I made seven total for Christmas – varying sizes and final designs. This was the first one. Maple and purpleheart, approximately 12”x16”x1 1/2”. I certainly learned the importance of achieving a precise second glue-up, to avoid too much end-grain flattening. While I did the first with a block plane and hand sander, I borrow the use of a drum sander for the others. Finish on these was a thinned varnish soaked through the thickness.

Very nice design and I like your hand cutouts and the fact that there are no burn marks in the Maple or Purple heart ! Also your glue ups came out very nice alignment wise : )
