This is a sleigh bed that I completed in February 2005. It has a standard sleight arm which I use a lot. I made the template several years ago and use it in various modified form for different sleigh beds. The one I made the head and foot panels in a wainscot raised panel style. I attached them to the post using biscuits and screws that were plugged. The cap rails for the bed was had cut out of an 1 ½” thick oak. I laid out the profile on the ends, set the saw up on 45 degrees and cut away most of the unwanted stock. The rest was finished up with a hand plane and sanders.
