This was a gift for some family friends that have been very generous to us this year. I wanted to make them something nice, from the heart. They are wine collectors and I thought this was a perfect gift.
This was the first bottle stopper I had turned. One thing I learned (after having years of metal work experience) tapping threads in wood is tougher than it looks. I found the tapped threads were not as solid as when you tap metal. The next time, I will just drill the hole in the blank and let the threads on the chuck tap the hole.
I have a video up on my YouTube channel for this project:
Thanks for watching!
