Lift-top box made of black walnut and bird’s eye maple. It has a crazy grain pattern to it, like a multi-legged millipede. Unfortunately it also had a knot, which fell out during construction; hence the wood filler.

Finish is Tried and True varnish oil and paste wax.

Thanks for looking!

Nice work, I fill my knots in with 5 min Epoxy and a drop of color trans tint depending on the wood.

You made a good one! I hate to have a defect show up during a build. Try some wood glue and sawdust mix to fill the hole, or mix superglue and sawdust. I have ended up with the gray patch and it isn’t the best thing to see. I am borrowing the top design for a box I am making right now. Thanks!!

-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and now time to work!!!
