Derbs,
Really nice looking chess board. I like the choice of woods as well. I use quite a bit of Brazilian Cherry in my projects, I know how hard it is to work with. The Ash is a nice contrast as well. Again congratulations on a very nice build and Welcome to LJ’s I hope you enjoy it!

Good job, I like how you kept the same shade of wood at each rank it making it look like you kept the squares in approximately the same place as they were in the board.
