Well I don’t know if I should be envious or jealous of this womans talent. Just the mere fact that she wants to be working in the garage with me had me tickled, but for her to carve like this on her first try is remarkable. She has so many talents from painting to jewelry making that for her to add this to her repertoire (spelling?) is simply amazing. I think shes a keeper. Now I need to step it up a knotch or I’ll be #2 in the garage, or am I already :*^(
This was carved in maple and is roughly 8×11. Thanks for looking

I’m afraid of any women that can handle sharp tools, but she did do a very nice carving.

Pat, she used gouges, straight chisels, and a utility knife to make the stop cuts. Thanks everyone for the comments

Maybe she could teach you how to do that too. Just don’t piss her off in the shop. :-) Nice work definitely a keeper

Well , your in trouble. And she does jewelry too? Just wait for her to start making you a nose ring to hook a leash to, and her next project becomes a dog house, then you know your #2. She did great, looking forward to seeing more of her work. You’ll be posting less, as now you have more housekeeping chores, so she can be in the shop.

In all fairness I think she should join and have her own LJ postings then you can both be # 1. Also we won’t have to read so much sour grapes. The lady has real talent and this is very impressive.

RTB I think she likes the sour grapes comments. LOL. I’m not sure she’s interested in joining so next time I post her project I won’t talk about her like she’s a goddess, but to clear the air right now she just may be. LOL. Anyhow, she’s going to be good at it and has started a new one that is quite a bit more complicated then this one. Anyhow, thanks for all the comments, she appreciates it and I got to gloat. I’ll keep it down from now on.

You’re a lucky man! She did a great job. She’s going to have to get her own Lumberjock site to showcase future work. Keep up the great work.
