Pic 1) After assembly of raised top I didn’t like the appeal but it was already glued together(hehe,,see those clamps,,)
Pic 2)After routing the edges of the Oak in the center,I made Ash trim for the perimeter(The last of the Ash I had left from the tree downed years back in town:(
Once the top was completed,I made a table for the base,it locked the legs quite well.
The only mechanical fasteners used were for the base shelf,4 screws to keep it snug,the skirting is Mortise and Tenon(first time in 20 years I have made that joint,,came out well) and pegged the joints with Oak ‘square’ pegs,they stood out nice against the Ash.
Now just to sell it!!!
